Yes. Olea contains no fragrance, no essential oils, no synthetic preservatives, and no common irritants. It was formulated with sensitive and reactive skin in mind. As always, patch test before full use if you have known allergies.

They do different things, and your barrier needs both. Castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid, it creates an occlusive seal that locks moisture in and protects against environmental stress. Black seed oil brings what castor oil can't: thymoquinone (a potent antioxidant), essential fatty acids that nourish and balance, and calming properties for reactive skin. Together, one seals and one nourishes. That dual-oil synergy is what makes Olea different from single-oil products.

Balms are typically wax-heavy with oils as secondary ingredients. Our solid serum is oil-forward, castor oil and black seed oil are the primary actives, with just enough beeswax to hold the solid format. It melts thinner than a balm, absorbs faster, and delivers concentrated oil benefits rather than sitting on the surface.

Absolutely. Skin barriers don't care about gender. If you shave, your barrier takes a hit every time — the dual-oil formula helps repair it. No fragrance, no complexity. One step after cleansing or shaving. Done.

Olea has no added fragrance. You may notice a very faint, natural scent from the castor oil and black seed oil — earthy and subtle. It fades within a minute of application. Most customers describe it as 'barely there' or 'clean-smelling.' Add an essential oil of your choice to add fragrance and get more uses out of Olea.

Before integrating any new skincare product into your routine, conducting a patch test is crucial to ensure your skin’s safety and compatibility. Even with natural ingredients like castor oil, which is generally well-tolerated, there's a small chance of an allergic reaction.

How to Conduct a Patch Test:
1. Select an Area: Choose a small, discreet patch of skin, such as behind your ear or on the inside of your elbow.
2. Apply a Small Amount: Use a tiny amount of the product on the selected area.
3. Wait and Observe: Wait for at least 24 hours. Monitor the test spot for any signs of reaction, including redness, itching, flakiness, rashes, or peeling.

If you experience any of these symptoms, discontinue use immediately.

Almost anywhere you need hydration. Some of our favorite applications include face, neck, chest, under the eyes, hands and feet, nails and cuticles. Keep it out of the eyes themselves, but a tiny amount patted under the eyes is fine. For face-only use, most customers find a jar lasts 4–5 months. If you're using it head to toe — on elbows, cuticles, heels, hair ends — you'll go through it faster.

Olea comes in a black glass jar that helps protect the oils from light and prolong the shelf life of your product. The lid is made from recycled plastic. We don't pack it in an extra box, in an effort to reduce waste.
